At World of Learning last month Learning News spoke to Paul Freeman of Global Knowledge about digital skills priorities and how his company is working with learning and development teams to help better identify and deliver digital skills.

Freeman cites there are 600,000 digital vacancies in the UK, covering areas such as data science, machine learning and AI, cyber security, digital marketing and user experience and asks how close learning and development is to getting to grips with understanding the digital skills gap and what to do about it.

Freeman's message at World of Learning is that often L&D is not close enough and reverts to organising requested courses rather than truly understanding their business's digital challenges.

Paul Freeman spoke to Learning News at World of Learning 2018, which took place at the NEC, Birmingham on 16 and 17 October. More information about World of Learning and details of the 2019 event is available from the team via www.learnevents.com.
