Multi-award winning learning and talent solutions provider Kallidus will be showing how virtual reality (VR) can deliver a truly immersive learning experience for hard and soft skills training and development at the Learning Technologies Summer Forum.

Renowned industry expert and Product Innovator at Kallidus, Tim Drewitt, will be presenting a free seminar, titled ‘Getting started with VR: myths, realities and practicalities’, at 11.15am – 11.45am, Theatre 2, Olympia exhibition hall on 14 June 2016. Tim will look at how the use of VR in learning is more accessible than ever to most organisations.

L&D professionals visiting Kallidus’ stand will have a chance to experience for themselves the power of VR and the potential an immersive 3D world of learning can provide for employees. Kallidus will be giving away Google Cardboard headsets and a handy pocket guide to VR which is packed full of practical tips to help make virtual simulated environments a reality in corporate training.

Seminar: Getting started with VR: myths, realities and practicalities

With 2016 dubbed the year of VR, Tim will dispel myths surrounding this ground-breaking technology with practical insight into how organisations from all sectors can get started with using VR to create high-impact immersive learning. Key areas Tim will cover include:

  • How VR can be used effectively to allow employees to safely practice new techniques and specialist skills, while having the freedom to fail; an approach that can make vital learning in-situ feasible and cost-effective.
  • Practical considerations for developing immersive-simulated content and how perceived key barriers can be overcome.
  • Why VR is not just suited for training in high-risk hazardous environments like defence and aerospace but can be used effectively in leadership and customer service training, for example.

Rob Caul, CEO of Kallidus, said: The Learning Technologies Summer Forum is a great platform to showcase learning innovation and we’re excited to be demonstrating the power of VR at this year’s show. For anybody thinking about using VR in learning, Tim Drewitt’s seminar is a must-see.”

The Learning Technologies Summer Forum is one of the UK’s leading events for the learning industry and features a wide range of conference and seminar presentations covering some of the hottest topics in workplace L&D.

Kallidus will be showing its market leading learning and talent solutions alongside its innovative immersive e-learning content at stand 18.

“VR technology has come of age and we want to show people the real potential it offers to create a more engaging learner experience. For companies looking to power-up their learning and inject innovation into content development, VR offers a creative and cost-effective solution particularly for specialist training that might not be practical or financially viable in the real-world,” added Philip Pyle, Sales and Marketing Director, Kallidus.
