Run by the Learning and Performance Institute, the Learning Awards celebrate and honour the best of the best in the learning and development industry and are recognised as the L&D sector’s premier awards ceremony.

Kallidus and TfL won the gold award for their development of immersive e-learning content which is supporting London Underground through the largest business transformation programme in Europe.

In the souvenir Book of the Night, the judges declared it to be a “standout learning solution about which both TfL and Kallidus were rightly passionate” and were impressed by “the shared vision and business purpose” and “highly creative e-learning enriched with strong gamification elements and inventive use of video”. The provision of iPads to non-office based staff to enable them to use the programme offline and online (thereby addressing a lack of connectivity in the Underground) was deemed to be “both pragmatic and far-sighted” and the judges also praised the programme for being “clearly designed to meet the needs of a highly diverse audience”.

Rob Caul, CEO of Kallidus said: We were bowled over to win the Gold award given the record number of global submissions this year. This is a huge testament to the creativity and expert skills of everybody who has worked so hard on this project. We’re delighted to have scored a hat trick of award wins with Transport for London - this ground-breaking initiative also picked up gold for best use of blended learning and bronze for best e-learning project at the E-Learning Awards just a few months ago.”

Philip Pyle, Sales and Marketing Director added: “This is a great achievement and is the direct result of a truly collaborative partnership between our organisations. Our multi-award winning programme with TfL is a great showcase for how today’s innovative, immersive e-learning solutions can transform learning and make a real difference to business success.”

More than 400 submissions from around the world were judged by a panel of industry experts looking for organisations demonstrating exceptional vision and depth in providing learning solutions with a proven business impact. The External Learning Solution of the Year was sponsored and presented by CompTIA. Popular television and radio presenter, Claudia Winkleman, hosted proceedings on 4 February 2016, at the Dorchester Hotel, on London’s Park Lane.
