Car manufacturer's European training operations to be lead from UK

23 January 2012, Honda Motor Europe announced today it is adopting CERTPOINT Systems’ software-as-a-service (SaaS) learning platform. The implementation will initially cover 26,000 users in over 20 European countries and in multiple languages. The cloud-based learning solution will be used by employees of both Honda and of its partner operations, covering Honda cars, motorcycles and power equipment.

“We chose CERTPOINT because it offers a cost-effective, comprehensive learning platform,” said Neil Fletcher, Head of European Training and Honda Institute, “In particular the CERTPOINTVLS™ 8.0 SaaS platform enables us to support our complete knowledge and skill qualification needs across all our European operating companies”.

The development program will be run by Honda’s core team, based in Poyle, UK.
Fletcher, however, points out that the decision to go with CERTPOINT was not based only on the merits of the software. “CERTPOINT have shown they are willing to help Honda gain operational efficiency and implement business change. They want to understand our business and are ready to work with us in partnership.”

“Our relationship with Honda is a long-term one,” confirms CERTPOINT General Manager Europe, Maria van Vlodrop. “The SaaS platform is a great way of ensuring Honda can deliver and manage training most efficiently across its European extended enterprise, but CERTPOINT’s key role is to also work closely with Honda to make sure the learning delivers the desired business impact.”
