German public broadcasting institution learns with IMC's Learning Management System.

the "Westdeutsche Rundfunk", based in Cologne, is a public broadcasting institution for the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Since January 2008, the Learning Management System CLIX® from IMC has been providing additional training and further education for around 4,500 WDR employees. Learning with new media is thus being systematically established in the modern broadcasting institution. WDR has already been using web-based training for a number of years and is now concentrating on individual target group-specific content which, with the help of learning technologies such as CLIX®, can be used very efficiently and quickly for training and further education.

Dr Michael Ashauer, area manager for HR and training at WDR, is very optimistic about the future considering the extremely positive user acceptance up until now: "With CLIX®, WDR has chosen a very flexible LMS (Learning Management System), which supports a variety of learning scenarios, offers the prospect of upgrades with further learning and, above all, is fit for the future thus guaranteeing the necessary investment protection. "WDR is the largest member of the ARD (the consortium of public-law broadcasting institutions in Germany) and, as such, IMC has won one of Europe's largest broadcasting corporations as its customer", commented Chairman Dr Wolfgang Kraemer with pleasure. "Our position in the media industry could be consolidated following the implementation of CLIX® at NDR (North German Broadcasting)", added Kraemer.
