Hemsley Fraser has won two gold awards at the Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards for its work with Coca Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP), Coca-Cola’s largest multinational bottling partner. The two accolades stem from CCEP’s new ‘Great People Manager Program’ (GPMP), a global initiative to build world-class people manager capabilities.

Global learning and talent development provider Hemsley Fraser has won two gold awards at the Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards for its work with Coca Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP), one of the world’s leading consumer goods companies and Coca-Cola’s largest multinational bottling partner.

The accolades stem from CCEP’s new ‘Great People Manager Program’ (GPMP), a global initiative to build world-class people manager capabilities. The idea for the GPMP was born out of CCEP’s strong belief that investing in and upskilling its people managers, who are then better equipped to create conditions for frontline staff to thrive, will drive performance at every level, and deliver on its strategy for growth.

Hemsley, which enables organisations to quickly activate change and realise their business goals through learning and development, won the awards with CCEP for excellence in two different categories of the Brandon Hall Group awards:

  • Best Leadership Development Program - for best practices in developing and delivering the leadership development programme
  • Best Development Program for Frontline Leaders - for best practices in developing and delivering the frontline supervisors development programme

Lynsey Whitmarsh, CEO, Hemsley Fraser, said: “We are delighted to be part of CCEP’s  success in these prestigious awards. These two accolades showcase an international organisation’s ability to take strategic and intelligent approaches, such as developing new leadership and development programmes for people leaders, to help them achieve world class skills and further contribute to their organisation’s sustained growth and expansion.”

“Our Excellence Award recipients have consistently demonstrated their commitment to employee growth and well-being through innovative human capital strategies,” said Brandon Hall Group Chief Operating Officer Rachel Cooke, HCM Excellence Awards program leader.

“These organizations have implemented HCM programs that drive outstanding business results and create a positive and empowering work environment. Our rigorous evaluation process has confirmed these programs as industry-leading in their effectiveness and impact on employee satisfaction.”

The Great People Manager Programme

CCEP’s GPMP uses a core concept of “brilliant basics, executed with confidence”, helping all its people managers understand the fundamentals of excellence in people management and confidently execute on this role.

The programme is built around two x 2-day in-person workshops called ‘The Way We Lead at CCEP’ and ‘Leading Winning Teams’, held over 6-8 week periods, and supported by engaging on-the-job assignments, a specially-curated digital people manager toolkit, and ongoing sponsorship and support from attendees’ senior leaders and line managers.

The two modules bring together people leaders in a supportive environment to build the skill sets and toolsets required while the workshops’ format gives learners enough time to absorb content without removing them from their day-to-day commitments. Delivered by best-in-class facilitators from Hemsley and CCEP that are steeped in the programme’s values, the sessions have delivered high levels of engagement and excitement.

To ensure a highly engaging learning experience, CCEP’s global Centre for Culture & Leadership design team, supported by Hemsley consultants, used phased listening, in-depth research and content development sessions to build customised programme content that balanced the programme’s clear unifying themes with local cultural, linguistic and regulatory differences.

More than 550 leaders across 14 countries and two continents have already completed the GPMP while there is a healthy waiting list. Participants’ feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with workshops receiving an 8.7 out of ten rating on average. Early survey data already shows substantial uplifts in managers’ ability and confidence in their people management skills, and their likelihood of remaining at CCEP and recommending it as a great place to work.

Murray Furlong, CCEP’s Director of Organisational Learning, said “At CCEP, our people are our biggest asset. They deserve to be led by Great People Managers, who are equipped to keep them safe, well, engaged and ready to play their part in driving our strategy for growth. Together with Hemsley, we were able to build a global development programme that’s raising the bar on our people manager capability. We’re so proud that our dedication to learning and commitment to excellence is recognised!”
