Growth Engineering is a multi award-winning learning technologies provider which focuses on learner engagement. Holcim is part of the colossal LafargeHolcim group, a leading supplier of aggregates and concrete, and employs more than 3,500 people across Australia and New Zealand.

Since 2002, the Australian Institute of Training and Development (AITD) has recognised outstanding achievement in learning and development and in organisational development through its Excellence Awards.

Holcim Australia and New Zealand Sales Academy has reached the finals in the ‘Best Implementation of a Blended Learning Solution’ category. This award is presented to an organisation which can demonstrate excellence and impact by utilising a combination of learning delivery mechanisms and methodologies in a learning initiative.

Holcim uses Growth Engineering’s gamified, social learning management system, The Academy LMS, to deliver its Sales Academy.

As well as licensing Growth Engineering’s Academy LMS, Holcim also licensed their library of interactive sales training content, accredited by the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management.

They based their learning programme around this content, and turned it into a robust five-stage blended learning solution. Their learners complete the online learning unit, go on to apply this learning on the job, attend a face-to-face workshop, complete a written assignment, and then receive an internationally recognised qualification.

Since launching the learning programme, Holcim has seen increased sales performance across the business. Their learners have also shown high levels of engagement with the training, and have earned nearly 400 ISMM awards.

Juliette Denny, Managing Director of Growth Engineering, said: “We might be based on opposite sides of the planet, but this is a close partnership which just keeps giving! The guys at Holcim are running a hugely successful blended learning programme, so it’s fantastic to see all of their hard work recognised.”

The winners of the AITD Excellence Awards will be announced on November 18 at a gala dinner in Sydney.
