Global performance improvement solutions provider General Physics Corporation (GP), a subsidiary of GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE: GPX), has been awarded a contract with a five year potential from the Social Security Administration (SSA) to provide training support services to SSA's Office of Training.

The focus will be web design and development, local network administration, and database design, integration, and maintenance. For all of these identified areas, GP will provide analyses, documentation and recommendations, systems development and operations, and maintenance.

Anticipated work to be performed under this contract includes: planning and implementing improvements to the Disaster Recovery system; developing a secure Video on Demand (VOD) portal to restrict designated VOD lessons to specific audiences; and developing enhancements to a previously developed XML online web-based training player to support streaming video.

The contract award is for a one year base term with four one-year options. GP has performed similar and related services for SSA under previous contracts for more than 10 years. Al Tattersall, GP senior vice president said, "We are proud of the fact that we have been able to build a long-term relationship with the Social Security Administration and look forward to many more years of a mutually-beneficial partnership."
