Income up 30%, additional revenue from a newly enlarged product portfolio and more staff to handle new business: that’s the growth story from GoodPractice as this current financial year draws to a close.

Scotland’s premier learning resource company has seen revenues increase by 30% over the past 12 months. The Edinburgh based operation, which specialises in learning resources targeted at senior staff working in large organisations, has boosted turnover by tapping into increased demand for mobile learning and extending its product and services portfolio in 2013.

“We’ve identified a sweet spot in L&D requirements,” explains GoodPractice CEO, Peter Casebow. “Traditionally workers operating in mid to senior management roles have been underserved because the L&D initiatives designed to support them were time intensive, difficult to access and took too long to complete. Over the past 18 months we’ve reached a tipping point where senior staff have become receptive to the benefits of practical just-in-time performance support and L&D professionals want well researched resources that are flexible and can be calibrated easily and quickly for that audience."

Smart-phone and mobile device take-up has been another factor stimulating new demand for learning resources targeted at senior managers according to Forrester’s latest research. 29% of the global workforce can now be categorised as anytime, anywhere information workers says Forrester’s and GoodPractice’s strategic decision to make their leadership and management resource toolkits available on any device at any time is one of the key factors contributing to recent growth.

New products and services launched by GoodPractice in 2013 have further contributed to company growth with the operation’s custom eLearning division winning new contracts from Visa, VirginMedia, International Baccalaureate and 20|20. Together with the business’ new leadership assessment solution and its Building Business Acumen in HR programme, these new revenue streams now account for 10% of company revenue and are forecast to generate 25% by the end of 2014.

New sales staff have also been brought into the business to support increased sales, production and technical demands.

GoodPractice will be exhibiting at Learning Technologies Olympia 2, London on Jan 29 and Jan 30, 2014. Test-drive the company’s products and services before the show then visit GoodPractice at stand 152 to claim £250 worth of L&D resources free.
