Elearnity research highlights seismic shift in E-learning Authoring

Cirencester, UKLearning NewsFosway

Elearnity, Europe’s leading Corporate Learning Analyst, today announced new research and a series of white papers summarising independent analysis of corporate e-learning authoring strategies and tools.

Over the last few years, there has been a significant growth in the demand for organisational-specific e-learning content. At the same time, a seismic shift has occurred in the e-learning authoring landscape; new authoring tools, learning content management systems, rapid e-learning approaches, out-sourcing and in-sourcing have all impacted the strategies adopted by large corporates to develop e-learning. The recent economic crisis has further increased the pressure on budgets and the need for instant answers, forcing all organisations to look for better, cheaper and quicker ways to produce and maintain their e-learning content.

“For the first time, this new Elearnity research pulls together key trends in authoring tools and bespoke e-learning to provide a framework for organisations considering their future strategy for e-learning production” said David Wilson, Elearnity’s Managing Director. “Organisations need to significantly raise their e-learning game to meet the increased needs of the business. This is about more than tools - they need a strategic shift in their approach to e-learning production”.

Summarised in a series of three Elearnity Core Insights papers, each paper will cover a specific area:
• The Shifting E-learning Authoring Landscape
• Strategies and Development Models
• Authoring Tools and Technologies

The first paper: E-learning Authoring – The Shifting Landscape is available immediately for download from Elearnity’s online Knowledge Centre at www.elearnity.com. The other two papers will be published in the second quarter of 2010.

David Wilson, Elearnity’s Managing Director, will also be previewing a summary of the analysis inthe first paper in a presentation at the Learning Technologies 2010 Conference at Olympia, today. A copy of his presentation slides will also be available after the conference from Elearnity’s website.
