Capita joins forces with Filtered to scale content intelligence and smart skill building for employees

London, UKLearning NewsFiltered

Capita have signed a strategic partnership and become a shareholder of learning technology innovators, Filtered, enabling their clients to bring more targeted skills and capability acquisition to employees.

Filtered helps companies get the right content, to the right people, to build the right skills, for business performance. Its Content Intelligence technology analyses hundreds of thousands of pieces of learning content from established providers, free resources on the internet and internal materials to determine the relevance to a client’s priority skills. Filtered then delivers personalised recommendations into the flow of work via its learning experience platform and other communications channels.

Curious employees who want to develop their skills can log on to the platform and answer a series of questions so that the technology can personalise the learning experience. Once the learner has accessed the content, they are given an opportunity to give a brief review of its quality which then feeds back into the platform and helps improve the content offered the next time a search is conducted. This virtuous cycle allows scalable personalisation across an organisation’s entire workforce.

There is clearly a real need for Filtered’s offering given that 45 per cent of talent developers spend half their time curating and building learning content. Only 33 percent of business leaders say their capability building programmes often achieve the business impact they desire. Employees themselves are clearly not satisfied with their current learning options – with 54 per cent of people saying they would spend more time learning if they had specific recommendations to help reach career goals.

Filtered works with a number of Fortune 500 companies, including AstraZeneca, Heineken and Procter & Gamble, and because its system also compares the cost of accessing different learning content, it has helped businesses make millions of pounds of savings. Capita’s partnership with Filtered, through its venturing arm Capita Scaling Partner (CSP), will allow Filtered to expand further into the UK market as well as offer Capita’s global client base access to next generation learning services.

Commenting, Marc Zao-Sanders, CEO of Filtered, said: “We’re delighted to partner with Capita to bring Filtered to the right companies and the right content, to the right people to help build the skills they need. Capita’s proven ability to develop learning cultures, combined with Filtered’s understanding of workplace skills and data, is a compelling proposition.”

Commenting, Costi Karayannis, Managing Director of Capita Learning, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Filtered as it was clear right away after we met that their expertise and technology can solve many of the learning problems that UK companies face. We look forward to working together to help improve the skills of the UK workforce by ensuring we provide the very best tailored content to those looking to expand their horizons.”
