What's changed in L&D in two decades?
Learning and Development in organizations: Reflecting on 20 years of research - interview with Anna Barnett and Nahdia Khan, Mind Tools for Business.
The annual Learning Performance Benchmark has run for twenty years, collecting data about learning and development. Eleven thousand organisations and sixty seven thousand employees have contributed and it's led to over seventy published reports. The data spans eighty three countries, twenty two industries and is likely the largest, independent, learning and development data set in the world.
The benchmark is the signpost to what works and where the problems are, and the individual nature of the reports has helped thousands of businesses to improve their workplace learning maturity.
Learning News looks back across twenty years of the benchmark. In 2023 half of L&D teams remain in the ‘level one stage’ of Organizational Learning Maturity, so what's changed, what's been resolved? What are the intransigent challenges in workplace learning and can these ever be resolved?
Nahdia Khan and Anna Barnett from the research team at Mind Tools join Learning News to look at how learning maturity has evolved over two decades and discuss the characteristics of the most successful types of L&D teams.
