B Corp: changing business
Learning Pool is now a B Corp, accountable for its environmental and social performance. Ben Betts joins Learning News to talk about Learning Pool’s B Corp experience.
Learning Pool has joined the growing B Corp movement and has changed how it accounts for itself, placing its environmental and social performance, equally, alongside its financial performance.
B Corp is a growing, global movement to refocus business from looking more at profit for shareholders to also include profit for the environment, for people, communities and governance.
There are around seven thousand B Corps in the world today, and Learning Pool was the first of the larger workplace learning providers to achieve it. Becoming a B Corp places a legal responsibility on the company for its environmental, social and governance performance. It involves a rigorous certification process, which must be maintained year after year.
Ben Betts, Learning Pool’s CEO, joins Rob Clarke on Learning News to talk about his organisation’s experience in becoming a B Corp.
