The visit marked the launch of Export Week and the drive to get more companies competing overseas. A long-time Brighton resident, Epic has expanded to Brazil and the United States in the past year. Epic are members of the Passport to Export programme which has been instrumental in supporting the company while opening its U.S. office in New York.

Epic’s UKTI International Trade Adviser, Lev Denker said: “Lord Green’s visit highlights the success Epic has enjoyed in overseas markets. The organisation proves that with planning, research and a strategic approach to exporting, jobs can be created locally for the long-term. This strategy for international expansion is the best way to ensure controlled and sustainable growth for the company. It is really exciting for me to work closely with such a creative and forward-looking organisation.”

Opened in 2011, Brazil has enjoyed strong sales and is already trading profitably. The new office in New York opened on the 5th November 2012 despite logistical and safety problems caused by Hurricane Sandy.  Meanwhile in the UK, Epic is on track for its best ever year.

Lord Green said: “Firms are seizing upon the challenge to export – with a 10.5 per cent export growth from 2010 to 2011 and more success stories, like Epic’s, where companies are exporting and creating sustainable jobs locally.”

The visit from the Minister is the latest recognition of Epic’s hard work, dedication to its clients and commitment to sustainable growth, which culminated in Epic winning ‘e-learning development company of the year' at the 2012 E-Learning Awards.

Epic Chief Executive Jonathan Satchell said of the visit: “I’m delighted to welcome Lord Green to Epic. His visit recognises the success our teams have achieved in Brazil and more recently the U.S. and I look forward to introducing the Minister to the talented staff here at Epic.”
