Epic is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Timpson as Director of New Business at Epic, reporting to Deputy Managing Director of the Commercial division, Tracy Capaldi-Drewett. This is a new post, the creation of which acknowledges Nick’s success in breaking new ground for Epic, both in the profile of projects he has brought to the company and of his development of new sectors.

Recent years have seen the emergence of a breed of more knowledgeable, experienced clients who require a different style of account management from those taking their first steps in e-learning. Part of Nick’s remit will be to work with and nurture the latter group, as e-learning grows to take in new sectors and areas of practice.

" I am delighted Nick will be taking on the role as Director of New Business. Nick's track record, drive and innovative thinking in his approach to understanding the needs of Epic’s prospects is exactly what is required to drive new business forward for the company “ – Tracy Capaldi-Drewett.

"When providing solutions, it is important to understand how they fit in with the overall strategy of the organisation and the learning objectives of each intervention. I believe my experience in e-learning and understanding of the commercial drivers of our clients requirements can add significant value. This is something I am passionate about" – Nick Timpson.

Nick joined Epic in 2004 as Account Manager within Epic's sales team, with eight years' experience in the retail sector already behind him. Prior to joining Epic he worked for Experian Ltd, an Information Solutions organisation providing solutions to the forecourt sector and helping with issues such as site location, assessment, competitor impact analysis and customer profiling.

Up until this appointment, Nick has account managed clients such as BP, Network Rail, Royal Bank of Scotland, IKEA, Royal Mail and Wyeth Ltd at Epic, on subjects as diverse as induction, compliance, product knowledge and awareness training. He takes a keen interest in the issues that businesses face and works closely with his clients to tailor solutions to meet their unique business needs. He pays particular attention to the context of each organisation’s learning requirement and how this fits into the overall learning strategy from both career progression for the learner and the commercial stand point for the client.
