Degreed announces C-Suite appointments and product improvements ahead of Learning Technologies 2024
Degreed makes C-Suite hires and product improvements to further accelerate the industry shift towards skills as the currency of work.
Degreed, the enterprise platform that makes it easier for hundreds of companies globally to engage their workforce in skills-first learning, announces key C-Suite hires alongside product improvements, ahead of exhibiting at Learning Technologies 2024. Degreed has appointed former SAP Executive Vice President Max Wessel as President, Nicole Williams as Chief Operating Officer, Nate Kimmons as Chief Revenue Officer, and Sanjay Parmar as Chief Technology Officer. The C-Suite additions bring a wealth of operational excellence and expertise to guide Degreed into its next phase of growth and innovation.
The appointments come following the company's strong market and sector expansion, plus product enhancements that make continuous skill-building easier. These include upgrades to the Degreed App for Microsoft Teams, a refreshed Degreed mobile app for iOS and Android, a new reporting feature for L&D teams, improvements to the search experience using generative AI, and the launch of Degreed Content Marketplace.
Degreed Content Marketplace is an additional platform that works with Degreed’s learning platform. It enables L&D teams to build a strong internal talent pipeline through custom programs and internal academies, collaborative learning, and personal learning stipends that they can spend on thousands of curated skill-building programs within the marketplace. Content Marketplace can scale from one individual to entire teams, plugging skills gaps across organizations and providing tailored skilling across employee onboarding, leadership development, AI and digital transformation, or functional upskilling. Degreed Content Marketplace was recently awarded Silver in the Brandon Hall Group Excellence in Technology Awards.
Degreed has recently been positioned as a Strategic Leader in the Fosway 9-Grid™ for Learning Systems for 2024, recognizing its broad scope of features, strong market presence, and customer advocacy. The company has also had key global customer wins in finance and banking, healthcare, education, and manufacturing, many through a strengthening relationship with SAP.
Max Wessel, President at Degreed said, “I am a deep believer in skill building as a path to a more equitable society, particularly now as more than 8-in-10 organizations face skills shortages. When I look at the opportunities and challenges facing organizations in the future due to technological, economic, and societal changes, Degreed offers one of the most compelling solutions in the market.
“Degreed has built an engine to change the workforce for the better and measure where each learner is throughout their journey. That’s a remarkable foundation for our customers' transformations in today's dynamic world. Now is the moment to take that foundation and do even bigger things as we push deeper into skills, the learning platform, and across the extended workforce. I couldn’t be more excited to work with the executive team to take Degreed even further.”
David Blake, CEO of Degreed said, “At Degreed, we're not just developing a platform; we're cultivating a skill-building powerhouse that adapts at the speed of change. By harnessing AI and forging robust partnerships, we're transforming the learning landscape to seamlessly align with individual ambitions and pressing business imperatives. Our objective is clear: to equip professionals with the skills of tomorrow, today—ensuring that upskilling isn't just an option, but a natural step in every career journey.”
