Europe Arab Bank selects Communicaid to develop the intercultural skills of its employees as they seek to develop relationships with colleagues and clients across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

Europe Arab Bank is an international bank that supplies financial services to clients conducting business between Europe and the MENA region. Headquartered in London, the Human Resources team identified the need to develop the cross cultural skills of more than 70 managers, which work with both clients and colleagues throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This training would form part of their Management Development Programme, in line with the Bank’s new Behavioural Competency Framework.

The intercultural training programme focused on raising employees’ awareness of the role that culture plays in international relationships and how to develop strategies to build effective relationships. A particular emphasis was placed on the key markets in which Europe Arab Bank operates (Europe, Middle East and North Africa) and how culture and international communication differs from country to country and region to region. The cross cultural awareness training event, which brought the diverse Europe Arab Bank management team, also represented an excellent networking opportunity and team building experience.

Lorenzo Aloe, Senior HR Manager at Europe Arab Bank comments: “Communicaid’s cultural awareness training programmes were very useful as they helped us to understand how cultural differences impact our relationships with each other. It was great to take away a practical toolkit of strategies that we could use immediately to communicate with our diverse range of contacts.”

Declan Mulkeen, Marketing Director of Communicaid comments: “Developing the global leadership skills of international managers is key for any organisation to succeed in a constantly changing and competitive environment. We are delighted to have assisted Europe Arab Bank with this important cultural training intervention. We look forward to continuing to support the Bank over the coming months and years.”
