Darren Guy Achieves World-First FCLO® Accreditation as CLO100 Experience Assessment Pipeline Grows
CLO100 has accredited its first two leaders through the CLO100 Experience Assessment, marking a major milestone for the Learning and Development profession. Darren Guy FCLO®, Global Head of L&D, and Dr Rory Megginson ACLO®, L&D Director, are the first to achieve formal recognition under the new framework.
Designed by L&D professionals for L&D professionals, the CLO100 Experience Assessment is the most robust assessment in the sector. Rather than evaluating candidates on job titles, service length, or formal qualifications alone, the framework validates real-world strategic contribution, leadership capability, and evidenced business impact.
Both leaders have now been formally published on the new public CLO Accreditation Register, establishing a transparent, verifiable benchmark exclusively for elite L&D talent.
With the first two accreditations complete, a growing pipeline of senior L&D leaders is currently progressing through the assessment process. CLO100 is actively encouraging other established executives to benchmark their business impact against this professional standard and take their place alongside industry peers.
Darren Guy FCLO®, Global Head of L&D and the world’s first Fellow CLO, said:
"I am immensely proud to be the first recipient of the CLO 100's new fellowship, as its award focuses on what matters most - demonstrable business impact. The application process was a deeply reflective and rigorous process, with emphasis on not just what I did but how I did it and why. Having Charles Jennings moderate my application added extra validation, as his work has directly shaped my thinking and practices, and his experience as a CLO means he has an empathetic understanding of the day-to-day challenges of L&D leadership. In an age where L&D's impact is under unprecedented scrutiny, I would encourage other L&D leaders to pursue the fellowship as a way to validate their strategic contribution."
Cathy Hoy, CEO of CLO100, added:
"L&D leaders create value in many ways that are not always visible through a CV or job title alone. The CLO100 Experience Assessment provides a credible route for learning professionals to bring together evidence of their leadership and reflect on their business impact. We are delighted to recognise Rory and Darren as our first accredited members, and we look forward to supporting the many candidates currently working through their assessments."
