Charities get sneak preview of eLearning 'secrets of success'
Laura Overton, MD of highly regarded benchmarking organisation Towards Maturity, will be drawing on early findings from the latest research into the effective use of learning technologies when she leads a discussion at the first Charity Learning Conference on 15 September, London. She’ll be sharing ‘hot off the press’ highlights from the latest Towards Maturity benchmark - its biggest and most comprehensive to date - to inspire charity members of the Consortium, and give them practical tips they can take back to the workplace.
Laura Overton, the MD of Towards Maturity, the not-for-profit organisation which carries out research into the effective use of learning technologies, is well known to members of The Charity Learning Consortium and is a popular workshop leader. She’ll be drawing on her experience of charity L&D, and her deep knowledge of the effective use of learning technologies, when she leads an interactive session at the first Charity Learning Conference on 15 September, London.

I’m looking forward to this interactive session at the first Charity Learning conference, and exploring some of the early findings of the 2011-12 study.”
Last year, Towards Maturity published the results of the biggest survey of learning technologies in the voluntary sector ever undertaken. More than 80 charities – representing more than 50,000 staff and volunteers - took part. The study showed that learning technologies are helping charities to deliver ‘more for less’, and there is tremendous enthusiasm in the charity sector to adopt new approaches to learning.
Laura Overton has previously been awarded the Colin Corder award from the Institute of IT Training, for her outstanding contribution to IT Training. She is a popular industry commentator and has contributed to initiatives associated with the European Commission and the UK government.
The Charity Learning Consortium is a Founding Ambassador to Towards Maturity, supporting the unique work that the independent benchmarking organisation carries out. Together the Ambassadors have become a powerful voice, championing the use of learning technologies and helping to raise the profile of eLearning.
About the Charity Learning Conference
The first Charity Learning Conference on 15 September, London has been designed to inspire members of the Consortium in the invaluable work that they do. The event is exclusively for the 99 charities which are members. The exciting conference line-up includes a workshop with creativity and innovation specialist Nigel Paine, and the event is being steered by renowned eLearning expert Clive Shepherd as the chairman.
