Brightwave's innovative technology recently produced for Diageo – a global leader in alcoholic beverage – was demoed at DemoFest – "the industry showcase of technology innovations for learning and performance" – that runs in parallel to the DevLearn Conference and Expo.
Head of Production Colin Welch and Head of Learning Design Caroline Freeman showcased an immersive solution built for Diageo's Bar Academy, using the latest development techniques and thinking in interactive film, gaming and first person role play via realistic bar scenarios with authentic, contextual feedback on their decisions.
Brightwave was awarded the sponsor's award from Weejee and Best "Immersive Simulation Solution" selected from ~100 global entries.
Colin joins Jenny Beltran, Diageo's Commercial Capability Specialist this Wednesday to present the solution and Brightwave's approach to interactive video production and game-based learning.
Caroline, lead designer on the Diageo project, said:
"I'm incredibly proud of the Brightwave team for producing a first-class double award-winning solution! As the trend for video-based content remains, we continue to deliver a number of solutions for clients incorporating techniques such as interactive film, gaming and first person role play. Diageo's solution provides effective fast-paced interactive video that combines storytelling and gaming – focussing on delivering behavioural change by allowing the learner to practice and fail safely."
Brightwave's attendance at DevLearn – one of the cutting-edge training and learning events in North America – follows news of its recent growth and global expansion, which has seen the agency attract significant flagship projects and new business with some of the world's leading brands and professional development bodies (including MediaCom, Diageo, Coca-Cola, M&S, British Airways and The Chartered Institute of Marketing).
The eLearning Guild's webinar showcases some of the award-winning projects presented at DevLearn DemoFest 2015. The webinar takes place on Wednesday 21st October at 10:00am PT, 6:00pm BST; online registration is available.
