The GSMA’s Mobile World Congress took place in the vibrant city of Barcelona, at the end of February 2016. The event is an opportunity for organisations to showcase leading mobile innovations and explore new developments that will shape our use of mobile technology in the future.

This year, visitors surpassed the 100,000 mark for the first time in the event’s history, with nearly 101,000 attendees. The four-day conference and exhibition attracted executives from the world’s largest and most influential mobile operators, software companies, equipment providers, internet companies and companies from industry sectors such as automotive, finance and healthcare, as well as government delegations from across the globe.

The GSMA, which represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, uniting nearly 800 operators with more than 250 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, showcased the latest developments to its Network 2020 All-IP Business Guide, developed in conjunction with Acteon, as well as live demos using devices running Advanced Communications, the latest in calling and messaging systems.

Steve Wyre, Senior Marketing Manager at the GSMA, said “We had a very good event with a lot of interest in the latest version of the All-IP Business Guide and our two new videos explaining the benefits of Advanced Communications for both the end user and the Mobile Network Operator. All three were developed by the GSMA with Acteon, our supplying partner for the Network 2020 digital channel.”
