Accipio has won the Totara Award for Best Education & Training Project with its client Educare.

They also had two "highly commended" Totara learning platforms (LMS/LxP) for their work with the Department for International Trade and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. The winning learning platform had over 500,000 users and 1,000,000 course completions in the last year.

Judges Lars Hyland and Senior Learning Strategist Lori Niles-Hofmann selected this year’s winners from the most competitive pool of entries yet. Every year, the Totara Awards recognises the most innovative and successful implementations of Totara, an open source learning management system renowned for its flexibility, cost effectiveness and scalability.

The EduCare site is one of the largest Totara Learn solutions in the world, and the project is a great example of both quantity and quality, with 98.5% of users saying they would recommend the system. Accipio worked with Educare to combine 7 existing learning management systems into one, and the migration was completed three months early. This involved migrating 100,000s of users, 120+ courses and 6,000 customers.

Some of the key customised features of the project included:

- Multi-tenancy setup for 6,000 customer organisations with their bespoke branding, access to manage users (via Accipio's organization manager) and certificates/progress, bespoke dashboards and high levels of automation;

- Multiple eCommerce integrations for various core market partners which allow individuals and organisation users to purchase courses and gain direct access to these within the Totara site for a defined period of time;

- Various forms of single-sign-on (SSO) with customer systems and social profiles (Microsoft, LinkedIn, Google); and

- Onboarding and workflow management.

Lars Hyland, Chief Learning Officer at Totara, said: “The standard and variety of solutions using the Totara platform continues to rise year on year. These awards are a great way to recognise success, innovation and real business impact. My congratulations to the teams at EduCare and Accipio for their win.”

Kate Atwell, Executive Director at EduCare said: “The Accipio team rose to the challenge and worked tirelessly to create innovative solutions that delivered against our needs and provided time and cost efficiencies for EduCare staff and customers. Together, we have pushed the boundaries of the possible and we are very proud of what has been achieved in a relatively short space of time. We have delivered essential safeguarding and duty of care knowledge to a vast audience via the Totara Learn system, and we are very proud to boast 1,000,000 courses have been completed in one year.”

Sascha Benson-Cooper, Managing Director of Accipio said: "This recognition - a best project award and two highly commended sites - is a wonderful way to start 2020 and further evidence that Accipio is a dynamic and innovative digital learning provider that is pushing the boundaries and challenging the sector.
