The Women in Learning Conference took place earlier this month aiming to raise awareness of the challenges women face in the workplace and mobilise change.

The #WomenInLearning movement took another step forward at its first-ever conference, in London. Around 100 learning leaders, men and women, joined the event to highlight a widening gender gap with an imbalance of women reaching senior authority roles in the learning sector: research conducted with the Learning and Skills Group in 2018 showed a widening gender gap, with only 31% of senior leadership roles in learning being filled by women.

The conference's speakers and panelists included Ashley Sinclair, CMO, Thrive Learning and the organiser of the Women in Learning Conference, Catherine Cape, Global Head of Learning, Deutsche Bank, Donald H Taylor, who facilitated a panel discussion and who's initial research brought the gender gap issues in L&D into focus, Jane Daly, Chief Insight Officer, Towards Maturity, Julie Brayson, Executive Director of Culture and Transformation, The Card Factory, Kate Graham, Co-founder of the Women in Learning movement, Kristina Tsiriotakis, Global Director of Learning and Development, Deciem and Nicola Kilner, CEO, Deciem.
