University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) has just launched a brand new learning platform - capable of handling up to 10,000 users.
The Totara system (the workplace incarnation of Moodle), implemented by e-Learning company Webanywhere, was launched to all staff at the end of July, and will now allow UCLH to deliver high quality learning content that supports their core values.
It will also allow trainee doctors to complete mandatory training before joining the Trust, with the learning platform easily accessible anytime, anywhere.
Claire London, Head of Workforce Development, said: “We value excellent education very highly, so we wanted to provide our staff with the best user experience. Webanywhere were able to provide this easily and quickly, and could make it look and feel how we wanted.
“We have been able to create high quality content with our internal experts. The learning content was developed by our staff, for our staff. This quality couldn’t have been purchased off the shelf.”
The new UCLH system supports personalised learning and now gives them a greater level of assurance about compliance. Since implementing the system, UCLH have also been able to upload 100,000 completion records.
Conor Gilligan, Head of Operations at Webanywhere, said: “After a successful pilot period, we are pleased to see the new, multi-functional learning platform launched. UCLH value excellent education very highly, and look forward to seeing this engaging system deliver personalised learning to staff, as well as support the Trust’s core values now and in the future.”
