The British Safety Council is a global health, safety and environmental charity. They work with businesses to improve their health, safety and environmental management. With an international trading operation generating £9m per annum in revenues - including an OfQual recognised awarding body - it uses these surpluses and its reserves to support a range of non-revenue generating activities to further its vision that no one should be killed, injured or made ill by their work.

Matt Sharp, British Safety Council’s interim head of e-solutions, said, "The new website has been launched. Besides providing an online store for the purchase of memberships, subscriptions and tangible goods, it also lays the foundations for our online community-building project. The new-look website gives visitors a more vibrant portrayal of the British Safety Council's brand and organises information around how our customers wish to view it, rather than how we are organised as a company."

In response to specific targets for the client's website redevelopment (including design and delivery of a content managed information portal for its diverse audiences, and full end to end integration of a new web store with the company's existing CRM and finance systems), Webanywhere created a solution built around the very popular and fast-growing open source content management system, Drupal. Other features of the solution include:

- e-Commerce functionality to deliver an online store for the British Safety Council’s product range

- Training course finder / interactive calendar

- Secure login to a 'community hub' member area for knowledge sharing and social networking

A key feature is that Britsafe.org integrates wholly with Britsafe's Salesforce CRM to support and service its clientele, improving administration efficiencies. This has been developed on a secure SOAP server, built to migrate data from Salesforce to the Drupal Website CMS. The automation of this and the build of the simple-to-use and manage online store has reduced administration costs, and the platform is future-ready in terms of scalability and functionality.

Matt Sharp said, "We chose to partner with Webanywhere because of their unique ability to truly 'stretch beyond' to deliver a highly complex project within budget and very tight timescales. Our website has evolved tremendously and I'm thrilled that it more accurately reflects our brand heritage with a cutting edge, intuitive design that properly presents us as the full-service health and safety organisation we are today, while reducing our costs of operation".

Conor Gilligan, Webanywhere Head of Operations said, "We worked extensively with the British Safety Council in scoping this solution design to implementation and post go live. Given the complexity of this project, we involved key stakeholders at Webanywhere in the solutions architecture. We are looking forward to building on the success of our partnership with the British Safety Council in the future."
