London, UKLearning NewsWatsonia Publishing

Watsonia Publishing, a leading courseware publisher and developer of courseware customisation technology, will use next week's World of Learning Conference and Exhibition at NEC Birmingham, to launch their latest version of EngineRoom™, a unique courseware customisation tool for training teams to quickly build fully-customised learning materials and trainer resources.

"Trainers and instructional designers familiar with the concept of re-usable learning objects will like many of the new features in EngineRoom," said David Kelly, CEO of Watsonia Publishing UK. "A fully template-driven processing engine allows a range of outputs to be instantly created from their own collections of learning objects. This includes trainer essentials such as tailored course manuals, outlines and lesson plans, along with useful extras such as practice exercises, quiz questions and answers, and even fully-customised training needs analysis surveys, all of which can be quickly personalised and disseminated to learners through their LAN, Intranet and or learning management system, as well as in printed form."

For trainers creating their own learning materials in Microsoft Word, EngineRoom offers a unique and fully-customisable authoring layer in which to write content. This frees up the writer (often the trainer) to concentrate on the tasks and procedures that their target audience needs to learn. The authoring layer takes care of the rest - document layout, the structure and even the placement of visuals and exercises.

An impressive and fast-growing army of clients across the UK and Ireland are now using Watsonia's methodology for training delivery, including Pfizer, Ernst & Young, The National Trust, Mothercare, Volvo, Thomson Directories, the LSE, and over 100 Local Authorities, Colleges and Universities.

Watsonia will be showcasing their latest version of EngineRoom at the World of Learning exhibition at the NEC on Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th November (stand B10). For IT trainers, the system is supplied with ready-made content including Microsoft Office courseware, Adobe / Macromedia courseware, ECDL and ITQ courseware and many other desktop applications.

Of particular interest to training managers would be the additional Breakfast Seminar that Watsonia Publishing is hosting on Wednesday 15 November at 9.30am. EngineRoom will be put through its paces, working with learning objects across a wide subject range. Breakfast is included although numbers are strictly limited.
