Watsonia Publishing becomes first courseware publisher to gain IITT accreditation

London, UKLearning NewsWatsonia Publishing

Watsonia Publishing, the IT courseware specialist, has just become the first courseware publisher in the UK to earn the prestigious accreditation of the Institute of IT Training, achieving an outright pass in the process.

The move is a first for the UK IT training industry, and comes just three months after the company opened its new European headquarters in Reigate, Surrey.

Established in Melbourne, Australia in 1988, Watsonia Publishing is a leading developer of quality computer training manuals. The company specialises in the production of modular, outcome-based courseware for both the corporate and educational markets, ideal for either instructor-led or self-paced training.

While focussed on the quality of IT courseware, Watsonia has also become well known for its unique rapid course building technology, EngineRoom™. Enabling training teams to quickly customise and assemble tailor-made course materials, the product has become an essential productivity tool for organisations serious about minimising the time they spend assembling training documentation.

The company has wasted no time building a loyal client base in the UK and Ireland amongst major corporate and Government organisations, including Pfizer, Ernst & Young, IBM, MoD, AstraZeneca, Thomsons, TUI, Calor Gas and the University of Nottingham.

Institute Director Alan Bellinger was impressed with the quality of Watsonia Publishing’s product range and their approach to the accreditation: “Personalisation is one of the buzz-words of the early 21st Century technology; and when an organisation can demonstrate a product that brings personalisation to life, that’s a real achievement; Watsonia is such a company”.

The IITT accreditation was sought by Watsonia as solid industry recognition for the passion, professionalism and quality focus of the company. Both interesting and challenging for both parties, the accreditation is the first of its kind for a courseware publishing company in the long history of the Institute.

Operations Director David Kelly commented: “We were driven by the meticulous standards of the Institute and are really thrilled to be the first to earn this crucial accreditation. Our training materials stand out from others because they are different, and EngineRoom offers powerful time saving and convenience for training professionals. The close bond that we have already forged with the IITT is testament to our commitment to quality in everything we do.”

Chief Executive of the Institute, Colin Steed, welcomed the addition of a completely new breed of accredited Institute member: “We are delighted to welcome Watsonia Publishing into the IITT Accredited family and look forward to working with them.”
