As part of a major upgrade program to Office 2003, the world renowned London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) has chosen Watsonia Publishing IT training materials after an exhaustive assessment of courseware providers from around the globe.

LSE, with over 1500 staff and 7500 students in London's Aldwych, is currently undergoing a major desktop upgrade project from Microsoft Office 2000 to Office 2003. Watsonia Publishing's groundbreaking InFocus series courseware will be used for both instructor-led training and as a comprehensive knowledgebase available to all staff and students on the LSE's secure intranet site.

With quality and customisable content high on their requirement list, LSE's IT Training Manager, Amber Miro, had a complex specification:

"Following the decision to upgrade, our training team undertook a full audit of IT training provision to determine the scope of training required for Office 2003, and the most effective means of delivering it to staff and students across the School."
"We conducted a rigorous assessment of proprietary courseware over a four month period. This resulted in the selection of Watsonia Publishing as the product which best meets the evolving needs of LSE staff and students, and offering excellent value for money. Shortly after selection, we were delighted to see Watsonia becoming the first courseware provider to be fully accredited by the Institute of IT Training."

David Kelly, Operations Director commented: "The London School of Economics is world famous for social science research and teaching. We are deeply honoured to have been chosen by such a prestigious university institution to play a vital role in their Office 2003 migration project."

To date, over 30 staff and student courses have been designed and developed using Watsonia Office 2003 courseware, as have online guides and workshops in readiness for their launch at the start of the academic year.
