The theme this year is #BalanceforBetter, a call to action for accelerating gender balance in business, politics, media coverage and wealth. The Tech Nation 'Diversity and Inclusion in UK Tech Companies' Report states that the tech workforce more broadly is made up of 81% men, and 19% women. Virtual College believes it is important that we raise awareness of the gender imbalance and work to close it within the tech industry.

“At Virtual College we have worked hard to ensure we break the tech workforce stereotype and give both men and women a fair chance to develop their skills and progress their careers,” said Hannah Brindle, Virtual College MD. “We are delighted to announce that we are a gender-balanced technology company with a 50/50 male to female employee ratio”

Virtual College are proud that there is a 60/40 split of women to men on their Leadership Team, a 50/50 split on their Board and 18 out of 29 managers are female.

In honour of International Women's Day, Virtual College have decided to profile some of their women, who will share a few facts about themselves and about the women they find inspirational in their lives.
