Virtual College partners The 60 Second Chef to give more this Christmas
Virtual College have teamed up with Patrick Drake (Head Chef at Hello Fresh and founder of The 60 Second Chef) to create a short course on making the perfect Christmas dinner
Built in the same style as the ‘Learn to Cook Fast’ courses, Virtual College and Patrick are working in partnership to create inspiring learning for all – utilising an easy-to-access, bite-sized video design, the courses are perfect for those that like to cook but are short of time; including busy professionals, working parents, students and those who just want to learn basic cooking techniques in a straightforward and convenient format.
On December 5 2017, Virtual College and Patrick launched a free Christmas Dinner course in Virtual College’s annual digital Christmas Card to all customers, staff and business partners. This year they’re giving everyone the chance to learn how to make the perfect Christmas dinner, for free!
On top of the free gift, everyone will have the ability to choose which charity Virtual College should donate to – with up to four charities available to choose from: Crisis, FareShare, Diabetes UK or Action for Children.
Rod Knox, CEO of Virtual College, said: “Over the last 10 years we’ve donated over £400,000 to charities to help a variety of worthy causes and now it’s really exciting to be working with Patrick to help people from all different backgrounds to learn to cook. During 2018 we’ll also be working together to roll-out this innovative course to help school children learn to cook and to understand the benefits of healthy eating.
The free Perfect Christmas Dinner course available now, however, is a great way for everyone to learn a few cooking tips to help them prepare for Christmas day and, in doing so, help us to give something back to our chosen charities.”
The course is free to all and can be accessed by visiting our website.
David Patterson, CEO of Learning Light, who signed up for the course said: “Like Santa, I’ve just completed the Perfect Christmas Dinner and I’m now well positioned to make those perfect fluffy roast potatoes!
The approach and principle of The 60 Second Chef courses, utilising short, well-produced videos to provide a bite-sized learning experience is almost the best thing since sliced bread. I’d suggest that everyone should give it a go and do something good for charity.”
The partnership with Patrick and the simplicity of The 60 Second Chef courses are only helping Virtual College’s mission to create ‘inspiring learning for all’ become a reality, as it quickly approaches three million registered learners.
