The event has been arranged by the Blended Learning Consortium which has been set up to support colleges in moving forward to meet accredited guidelines for blended learning and allow members to benefit from the creation and sharing of FE specific resources. Nearly 40% of general further education colleges are now part of this consortium.

Heart of Worcestershire College will host the conference at the Artrix Centre in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire on June 27th. The conference will be of benefit to those in a wide range of roles within the education and training sectors, including: learning resource and curriculum managers, digital and e-learning staff, teachers and lecturers and CPD managers. Mark Harrison, online learning consultant for Virtual College, will be presenting ‘Technology learning solutions for FE colleges’ - a workshop on how Virtual College is working with different FE colleges throughout the UK, providing technology learning solutions in areas such as:

  • Staff compliance
  • Student employability and work based training
  • An online tool for the Ofsted common inspection framework

The conference will begin with presentations from Stuart Laverick, Principal and CEO, Heart of Worcestershire College and Peter Kilcoyne, ILT Director, Heart of Worcestershire College.

The keynote speech will be delivered by Professor Diana Laurillard, Professor of Learning with Digital Technologies at the London Knowledge Lab, UCL Institute of Education.

The conference will also be available online with selected presentations and key breakout sessions streamed for those who choose to attend remotely. Delegates are recommended to attend in person, however, to take full advantage of the days’ events and networking opportunities.

Virtual College will also be exhibiting at the conference, showcasing its bespoke online learning capabilities, its 300 ‘off the shelf’ e-learning courses and Enable, Virtual College’s cloud-based learning management system.
