Virtual College is sponsoring the ‘Education and Training' category at the Patient Safety Awards, part of the Patient Safety Congress being held in Manchester from 5-6 July 2016.

Virtual College is an online training provider with specific expertise in the field of patient safety training. Over the past 20 years the company has worked collaboratively with NHS organisations to develop quality e-learning content tailored specifically to meet the needs of the UK health sector.

The Patient Safety Awards continue to recognise and reward outstanding practice within the NHS and independent healthcare organisations.

The ‘Education and Training’category focuses on the use of education and training to improve patient safety.

Virtual College’s Health and Social Care Director, Judith Clarkson, commented: “By providing staff with the appropriate skills and knowledge an organisation is taking the first step to embedding a culture of patient safety.”

Entries for this award will be asked to include examples of specific training initiatives designed to raise awareness of, and to improve, patient safety.

  • Multidisciplinary approach – the extent to which the product involves people working across different disciplines
  • Replicability – the extent to which the innovation can be recreated or reproduced in other settings
  • Evidence – qualitative or quantitative evidence of the difference the education initiative has made

This is the second consecutive year that Virtual College has sponsored this award.
