Virtual College delivers training to one and a half million online learners
Virtual College has reached a major milestone of one and a half million online learners. Currently, around 1,000 new learners register to undertake one of its courses each day.
Rod Knox, CEO and co-founder of Virtual College, commented: “Growth in the use of our online learning solutions has increased exponentially over the last few years.”
“It's only fifteen months since we achieved the million online learner mark.”
"We now provide online learning content and training delivery solutions to almost every sector in the UK - from healthcare, to manufacturing, education and catering- so the chances are that you or someone in your family has been through one of our courses."
Until now, most of Virtual College’s online learning courses have been taken by adults but that is about to change with the launch of interactive online careers advice and resources for young people.
“Our Career Vocational Open Online Courses (VOOC®) are being made available free of charge to schools and young people to provide impartial information on the huge range of vocational, education and training options available.”
"Online learning solutions are now the preferred method of learning for the growing population of 'digital natives' and an integral part of training in most organisations,” said Rod.
Virtual College has over one hundred and twenty UK-based staff and its online course directory includes over three hundred titles delivered via the company's learning management system.
David Patterson, Director of independent elearning consultants Learning Light, who recently listed Virtual College’s Enable LMS within their top 8 out of 600, commented: “It’s an incredible achievement. I am very impressed 1.5million learners can’t be wrong.”
Virtual College is predicting continued growth in the online learning market as it strives to achieve its longer term objective of 20 million learners by 2020.
