National online training provider and specialist in Lean Healthcare, Virtual College, has announced the list of finalists for their awards event to be held in early February. A total of eight categories are included in the awards and three finalists have been selected per category from across the UK and Europe.

The final part of the judging took place during January with an interview for each shortlisted candidate.  The judges, comprising a team of independent and NHS Lean experts, were searching for inspirational projects that have delivered measurable and sustained efficiency improvements within their organisations.

The 5th Lean Healthcare Academy Annual Conference and Awards event, now an established event on the healthcare calendar, will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Leeds on Thursday 7th February 2013. The event, which has grown in size and attendance each year, has been created for delegates to network, share best practice and to celebrate with those who have adopted and sustained lean working principles.

The event starts with lunch and an exhibition where finalists display their working projects and delegates are encouraged to visit a selection of workshops hosted by the finalists covering a variety of lean achievements.  The official awards ceremony will take place in the evening, where a winner will be announced from each category including Productive Series England & International, Embracing Technology, Sustained Improvement, Improving Services through Training & Development, Sharing Best Practice, Lean Champion and Best Impact on Patient Experience.  There will also be a ‘Peoples Choice’ award, voted by delegates during the daytime conference. The guest speaker this year is to be Roy Lilley, controversial and thought provoking healthcare expert.

Full details, including details on how to book online are available on the website www.leanhealthcareacademy.co.uk or contact Virtual College for an awards brochure outlining the event on 01943 885086.
