Virtual College partners with pixelfountain to deliver interactive learning games
Delegates at an upcoming workshop will discover how ‘serious games’ can inspire and improve resource management in community development. The games allow learners to apply real life decisions to a simulated game environment so they can see how the decisions they make impact on the whole community.
Yorkshire based Virtual College, a UK leader in e-learning, has teamed up with pixelfountain, a Stockport company that delivers innovative training courses, to offer a unique learning experience to housing and construction professionals. According to Hayley Rutter, Partnership Manager from Virtual College, this new partnership could lead to exciting new expansion plans for both businesses.
“Virtual College has been established since 1995 and now boasts well over one million online learners across the country in organisations large and small,” she said. “We have several e-Academies which offer sector-specific courses covering the areas of Business, Construction, Healthcare, Housing, Education and Safeguarding. In order to remain a market leader we are continually looking for complementary strategic partnerships and the products developed by pixelfountain are a perfect fit for our portfolio.”
Paul Ladley from pixelfountain said: “Our serious games blend the best of traditional and interactive learning, and to date we have been able to train more than 6,500 individuals in what is now a tried and tested yet still innovative approach.”
“We have been looking for a strategic partner for some time and Virtual College fits the bill because of its reputation for innovation and customer engagement.”
The response to the first event has been very exciting and the two organisations are confident this will be the start of an on-going partnership which will allow them both to build a business service that will enhance their clients’ skills in a fresh and innovative way.
The workshop will be held on 26 September at Leigh Sports Village and is free-of-charge. Up to two places are available per organisation.
