Virtual College’s Housing e-Academy welcomes major charity Foundation as a new member
Leeds based charity, Foundation, has become one of the latest organisations to choose the Virtual College's Housing e-Academy, for its e-learning requirements.
Established in the early 1980s, Foundation works with socially excluded people helping them to gain full independence in their local community. Foundation has 20 offices across the North of England and supports customers in a variety of ways such as finding a job, tackling drug addiction and improving family relationships.
Malcolm Thompson, HR Director at Foundation said 'Our customers often lead very chaotic lives. Our Support Workers have to respond to customers' needs at short notice and attendance at training events can suffer as a result'.
Malcolm said 'We are delighted to have joined the Housing e-Academy. Our membership will help us to provide more consistent and high quality basic training to our committed staff across the whole of our network'.
The introduction of e-learning shows Foundation's continued commitment to invest in their employees and reinforces why they were named in the 'Sunday Times 100 Best Places to Work in the Public Sector 2011'.
Chloe Weatherhead, Head of Housing e-Academy, said 'We are thrilled to welcome Foundation UK to the Housing e-Academy and look forward to working closely with them to introduce e-learning into their organisation'.
'E-learning can seem like a big step if you have never used online training methods before, which is why we have a dedicated support team to help with the roll out. Our courses have been designed to ensure that even those with the most basic computer skills can navigate through the learning material with ease'.
