Two leading players in the learning community have extended their co-operation in an alliance which will bring benefits to both users and providers of innovative learning. Bizmedia Ltd – publisher of e.learning age and organiser of the E-Learning Awards – has entered into a new partnership with Towards Maturity, the internationally recognised benchmarking practice.

Towards Maturity, which recently launched its online Benchmark Centre http://mybenchmark.towardsmaturity.org for learning and development professionals, has been conducting a longitudinal study based on the inputs of 1,200 organisations and 3,000 learners for the past 8 years. The partnership will allow this not-for-profit organisation to share more widely the detailed findings of its research in particular knowledge domains. Two good practice briefings will be published in e.learning age magazine based on Towards Maturity’s research and model, the first of these being a close-up look at what makes for effective leadership development.

In addition, Towards Maturity will have exclusive access in identifying and articulating effective implementation practices arising out of the E-learning Age Awards. Case studies of E-Learning Age Awards winners that draw out good practice will be published in the e.learning age magazine and on the Towards Maturity website.

Clive Snell, Bizmedia, Managing Director said: ‘We have worked with Towards Maturity over a number of years. Through their benchmark research, they contribute significantly to the understanding of learning technologies in the workplace. We’re pleased to continue and develop our relationship for the benefit of the e-learning profession, reinforcing many of the key issues we cover in our media and in our awards’.

Laura Overton, Managing Director of Toward Maturity, said: ‘BizMedia plays an important role in highlighting the role of innovation in the learning industry – and the e-learning awards in particular have gone from strength to strength. We look forward to working more closely with Biz Media to draw out practical lessons from the award winners. By sharing the secrets of success more widely, we are sure everyone can benefit.’
