New authoring tool thirst.io launches live integration with Totara and Moodle

BuildEmpire will be launching the new ‘evolved’ version of their authoring tool thirst.io which includes a live integration between thirst.io and LMSs Totara and Moodle. This latest ‘evolution’ of thirst.io also comes with a re-designed user interface to improve user experience and several new features directly requested by users.

The live integration will be available to Totara and Moodle users by adding a simple plugin to their platform. Once this is added, the user can log into thirst.io via their LMS. The integration pulls through the course as an activity which the administrator can then select. Since the feed is live, any amendments made in thirst.io will automatically be reflected in the LMS without needing to export the course.

“We want to move away from relying 100% on SCORM packages to move content around. It makes content creation much more efficient if we integrate directly with LMSs,” explained Fred Thompson, CEO.

The new user interface keeps the WYSIWYG editor with the intuitive way of adding content via drag and drop, but now gives the user more space to work and an easy way to create their own interactions.

New features added in this latest update include improved styling options and advanced organisation management. Nate Treavis, Programme Manager, says, “It’s important to us that we listen to our customers and deliver the features people want to see.”

BuildEmpire will be exhibiting thirst.io at Learning Technologies 2020, stand E62, offering free demonstrations for those considering a change in authoring tool.
