The ROI Academy™ was invited to run 2 workshop sessions at last week's launch of the Training Quality Standard (TQS). The Standard, which has been developed and piloted over the last 2 years, was formally launched on Thursday 8th May by the minister, David Lammy MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Skills.

Over 150 people representing external training providers and internal training departments that have achieved the Standard or are seeking to achieve the Standard were present. The minister and other guest speakers from accredited providers attested to the robust and rigorous standards that are required for organisations to meet the Standard and become certified and able to promote itself as an organisation that has met the Training Quality Standard.

One of the key areas that potential providers are finding most challenging is in the area of the evaluation and measurement of the training. The standard sets out clear requirements in this area, which require processes to be in place which will clearly demonstrate the impact and value of the training delivered to the organisation as well as a high level of satisfaction.

The ROI Academy™ was invited by the Learning Skills Council to run 2 workshops at the event to outline how providers and internal training departments may be able to meet the requirements.

Richard Marsh from Learning Skills Council commented "as the ROI Academy is at the forefront of training evaluation within the UK we invited them to provide an insight into evaluation and measurement including what the key considerations and factors are".

Mike Leeson from the ROI Academy™ commented "it was a rewarding experience to be involved in the launch and that hopefully our ROI workshops will enable more organisations to meet the Standard and become certified".
