Here’s what we’ll cover:

9.30am – Arrival and welcome

9.45am – Workshop 1: Designing for lasting behaviour change

Speaker: Matt Mella, Mindtools Kineo

Matt from Mindtools Kineo leads an exploration into how learning designers can create solutions that inspire lasting behaviour change. In this interactive session, we’ll dig into models you can use to define the real problems and barriers that organisations face, and we’ll discuss how we can support the steps their people take to go from “learners” to actually applying new skills and behaviours in their jobs. We’ll work in teams to apply these models to realistic situations and discover strategies that help deliver tangible results and measurable impact.

11.15am – Networking Break

11.45am – Workshop 2: Product Design for Learning (rapid sprint)

Speaker: Greg Arthur, Two Circles Design System

We’ll be hands-on, shifting your mindset from a standard learning design approach, to a product design mindset and system. We’ll work through a few tools and explore the system we use to reduce design cycle time and increase product viability. No product design experience needed, just the want to reshape how you approach learning products in a product-first world.

1.15pm – Lunch

2.15pm – Workshop 3:

Speaker: Joss Frimond, Institute for Transfer Effectiveness

What factors determine learning transfer success?

How can L&D leaders, facilitators, and consultants systematically increase the transfer of learning events? Which tools and interventions truly enhance transfer effectiveness?

In this 90-minute session, we’ll explore evidence-based answers to these questions — answers that are both scientifically sound and practically tested.

We’ll introduce you to the 12 Levers of Transfer Effectiveness — the essence of 110 years of scientific research, distilled and curated by Dr. Ina Weinbauer-Heidel from the Institute for Transfer Effectiveness. These 12 levers are designed to help ensure that the insights gained in learning programs are effectively and sustainably applied in real-life contexts.

You’ll receive:

✅ A clear overview of the 12 levers

A hands-on experience with the Transfer Card Game to uncover transfer barriers in your own programs

Practical tools and ideas to make your programs more transfer-robust

3.45pm – Wrap up and finish at 4pm
