eLearning Network launches new low cost membership and events

London, UKLearning NewsThe Learning Network

The eLearning Network (eLN) is transforming for 2015 with a low cost membership model, free events and a greater focus on regional networking. This new approach comes in response to growing demand from the elearning community for more opportunities to connect with peers and experts from across the industry spectrum of client organisations, vendors and independent elearning professionals.

Membership of the eLN will now cost just £29 per annum, which includes free national workshops, regional events, access to the mentoring scheme and industry-leading resources, plus priority access to a new annual conference to be held from 2015 onwards.

The eLN was founded 25 years ago and is a Community Interest Company run solely for the benefit of the elearning community. During this time, the term elearning has evolved to include colleagues from backgrounds in learning and development, virtual classrooms, mobile learning and other software, technological and educational disciplines.

Newly elected Chair of the eLN, John Curran, comments ‘The way we all network has changed dramatically in recent years. Social media and online communities enable us to become connected and build professional networks without needing to leave the house. But there is still great demand for face-to-face interaction. Sometimes that is at a more formal event, learning from experts and hearing about the latest innovations. But it is becoming increasingly about the opportunity to meet informally, swap stories and build lasting relationships in a more relaxed setting.’

He continues, ‘We are delighted to launch a new look to the eLN that reflects both current networking practices and also relieves the pressure on people’s budgets to become a member and attend events.’

Details of the new low cost membership scheme and its benefits were revealed for the first time at the Learning Technologies event last week to a great reception from the elearning community. New members are being welcomed now via the eLN website.
