Learning NewsThe Chartered Institute of Marketing

New virtual learning option showcased; Top-level qualifications for both sales and marketing professionals; Marketing tips and techniques for more effective HR.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing has today announced that it will be offering visitors an exclusive insight into its unique new portfolio of interactive programmes and services on stand 220 at the forthcoming CIPD Exhibition in Manchester between 17 and 19 November.

The Institute will be showcasing its wide range of qualifications on offer to both marketing, and sales staff, via the Institute's own CIM Academy. Study options include a new virtual learning alternative, designed for maximum flexibility and accessibility, with a high level of delegate support and group interactions. All coursework can be completed remotely - eliminating the time and cost of travel, and particularly useful for joint business team development.

"There are many benefits in making sure that business teams receive continuous training and development," said the Institute's director of research and professional development, David Thorp.
"Apart from the obvious one of updating marketers on developments in a rapidly changing environment, in these continuing challenging times, learning and development helps to improve motivation, contributes to employee retention, boosts job satisfaction and increases the ability of the marketing, and other teams within the business, to adapt and change to bring positive benefits to the organisation."

For HR professionals dealing with change in their organisation there will be a special one-off seminar session for sharing marketing tips and techniques that can be used to drive more effective HR. No matter how elegant the strategy or desirable the change, there will only be an impact on performance if implementation is effective. This seminar examines how treating HR stakeholders as an internal market and adopting tried and tested marketing techniques can significantly improve HR's profile and performance. This special seminar session will be at 15:30 on 17 November 2009 and attendance is on a first come first served basis, so it is recommended that visitors arrive early to guarantee availability.

Visitors to CIPD 2009 will also be some of the first to view CIMWorld - the Institute's new virtual learning environment for organisations with large marketing teams based across many locations. CIMWorld has been designed to deliver high quality content and learning management resources straight to the desktop. It brings together a wide range of functionality and resources, creating an end-to-end e-learning environment for marketing and sales. It extends the reach of learning, and allows flexibility that saves time and reduces the cost of learning interventions.
