Newcross Healthcare has won gold for Onboarding Programme of the Year and Travelodge took home silver in the Learning Technologies Award.
Bristol, UK - February 23, 2023 - Sponge's clients have received two awards at the Learning Awards 2023. Newcross Healthcare took home gold in Onboarding Programme of the Year for an exciting virtual learning initiative that retained the authenticity of real-world experiences, while Travelodge won silver in the Learning Technologies Award for an innovative compliance learning solution on Sponge's LMS platform, Spark. These wins highlight the care and innovation both organisations have demonstrated in their approach to L&D, alongside the brilliance of the work that brought these learning solutions to life.
Designed and hosted by the Learning and Performance Institute (LPI), the Learning Awards, held in London on February 16th, saw over 800 international attendees from the workplace L&D sector gathering to celebrate achievements in their respective fields. With the winners of the awards selected from a pool of 600 applications from 51 countries by an independent panel of 54 industry leaders, these awards mark a fantastic achievement for Sponge's clients and the guidance provided by the digital learning provider.
"These award wins mark yet another important milestone for the clients and the innovation that we jointly produce on a regular basis," said Adam Poulter, CEO of Sponge. "Having the flagship work and contributions to L&D recognised with these awards is an outstanding achievement and reflects the phenomenal effort made by all three organisations."
The learning solutions deployed by both Newcross Healthcare and Travelodge exemplify creativity, passion, and understanding in the way they seek to engage their employees in learning.
Michelle Gorringe, Chief Operating Officer of Newcross, said: “Our Virtual Shift module is an immersive and engaging onboarding programme that is based on real people who have been involved with Newcross, such as Major Bingley who was the first person to ever receive our care 25 years ago. The module was carefully designed to prepare healthcare workers for any scenario and we’re incredibly proud that it’s been recognised at these awards.”
Alongside celebrating these specific award wins for clients, Sponge has recently been awarded gold accredited status by the LPI and launched a new website and brand evolution focusing on investing in further creativity and innovation in the sector to deliver, 'unforgettable learning'.
Commenting on Sponge's gold accreditation and success at the 2023 Learning Awards, Edmund Monk, CEO, LPI, said: "Sponge Learning is clearly passionate about its business and firmly dedicated to continued excellence. That they've demonstrated these qualities working with the LPI, with international customers, and with partnering organisations, is a testament to how hard the team works. I am proud to hear of Sponge Learning's outstanding achievements and look forward to working with them throughout the coming years as they seek to strengthen their position in the market. I have no hesitation in recommending Sponge Learning to prospective customers and partners as their gold accreditation and Learning Awards success proves they are an exceptional provider of learning technologies."
