Take learning out of the ‘Digital Dark Age’: Smarter Technologies demonstrates how at Learning Technologies 2014

Learning NewsSmarter Interactive

At this year’s Learning Technologies show held at Olympia, London on 29th to 30th January, Smarter Interactive will demonstrate how collaborative technologies can take training out of the ‘Digital Dark Age’ and deliver consistent high quality instructor-led training.

Now in its 15th year, Learning Technologies is Europe's leading showcase of technology supported workplace learning. Visitors to the Smarter Interactive stand 120 will be given a hands-on demonstration of how SMART Board® interactive whiteboards and Bridgit™ data conferencing software can help to deliver high quality instructor led training regardless of attendee location.

SMART Boards enable presenters to show digital content such as PowerPoint slides on a large screen and add their own handwritten notes to the content that would normally be written on a flip chart. Delegates –including remote delegates - can also interact with the content adding their ideas and notes in digital ink making the session more engaging and provide a more collaborative learning environment. All annotated notes can be distributed immediately after the training session to the delegates either via email or saved to an e-learning platform for later review.

In his presentation in Theatre 3 on Thursday 30th Jan at 3.30 p.m., Jon Knight, Collaboration Technology Specialist, will present how Smarter Interactive helped Global Knowledge – Europe’s largest independent IT Training company - deliver high quality instructor led training despite being in a global recession and in a competitive market. His presentation will highlight the importance of interactive technologies to take learning out of the digital dark age.

Jon Knight comments: “People can often be put off signing up for a training course either because of the amount of traveling involved or the cost.  Our solutions help training companies deliver a consistent high quality learning experience across multiple sites at the same time. This helps companies to reduce costs whilst still maintaining standards. Global Knowledge deployed our solutions and recognised a return on investment in just six months as well as experiencing a 35 % reduction in course cancellations. The results speak for themselves. Delegates can access training at a convenient location, saving time and costs whilst immersing themselves in the learning experience.”
