Excellence, the learning management system (LMS) developed by Redware Limited and used by its client Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), was recently shortlisted in the car maker's annual Quality Awards Event. Out of a 70-strong shortlist, Excellence was Commended in the category of Best Marketing, Sales & Service Quality Improvement Project.

Excellence is a comprehensive learning solution for the automotive retail industry currently used by almost 40,000 people in over 100 countries. It offers self-paced online resources as well as access to JLR's Academy-based training programmes worldwide. The system is available in ten major languages including Chinese and Russian and the courses available cover all aspects of a JLR dealer's business: sales and marketing, parts and service.

Redware Managing Director Andre Wigley said: "Redware has been working in partnership with Jaguar Land Rover for over three years. The solution we have developed is especially critical during this economic downturn. Excellence has helped JLR to enhance its customer satisfaction ratings with better trained and better motivated staff. JLR has been able to focus on quality in terms both of customer loyalty and staff retention."

The approach at Redware is to develop solutions which focus on the training of participants within areas of real need. The use of a competency assessment tool or training need analysis technique enables the company's solutions to provide personalised development plans which grant credit for existing ability but push the learner outside of their personal comfort zone. By targeting key needs, the advantages for the participant and employing business become measurable and cost effective.

In addition to the Quality Awards, Redware has recently been awarded a further one year contract as a strategic IT partner for Jaguar Land Rover. Andre Wigley commented: "We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with JLR to enhance and further develop Excellence for future business needs."
