QA, the UK’s largest IT training provider, is pleased to announce the BCS Certificate in Information Security Management Principles (CISMP) course is now accredited through the CESG Certified Training (CCT) scheme after undergoing a rigorous assessment process.

CESG is the National Technical Authority for Information Assurance and the Information Security arm of GCHQ, working to keep the country’s information secure and building the capability of Cyber Security professionals. The CCT scheme is designed to assure high quality cyber security training courses and is a part of the National Cyber Security Programme to enhance the UK’s knowledge, skills and talent in all aspects of cyber security.

Having a CESG-accredited course as part of QA’s curriculum is a clear affirmation of the quality of both course materials and trainers against an industry recognised benchmark.  The multi-stage APM Group assessment process has seven stages, including evaluation of the course material, management system and trainer, as well as onsite visits and trainer interviews. The CCT assessment process is a key differentiator which sets QA apart from other cyber security training providers and provides QA customers with added confidence in the quality of the delivered learning pathways.

The CISMP course is a thorough, practical five-day course designed to provide the knowledge and skills required to manage information security, information assurance and information risk-based processes. The qualification, also accredited by the BCS Chartered Institute for IT, provides candidates detailed knowledge of concepts, understanding of current legislation/regulations and the ability to apply real-world experience to business concepts.

“We are very excited that the course and trainer are recognised by the industry’s cyber security top standards.” QA’s Commercial Director, Bill Walker said. “It demonstrates our commitment to providing high quality training and supporting government initiatives to enhance the cyber security skills of UK professionals.”

More information about the course is available at www.qa.com/QACISMP and more information about the scheme via the CESG or APMG websites.
