Xpertise chooses HRD 2008 to launch its new intensive development programmes

Leading training company Xpertise is launching a new range of ‘intensive development programmes’ at the HRD show at ExCel in London on 15-17 April.

Xpertise’s unique approach to this portfolio is the result of extensive development by Xpertise’s soft skills division. As the name implies, they are highly intensive, proven training programmes – but what’s unusual is that the content includes all the core skills essential for an individual to become a valued contributor to any business.

“We worked with customers to understand the key skills issues they have,” Xpertise’s commercial director Bill Walker told us. “Then, within each one of those areas, we consulted with customers on the types of skills they would like their team members to develop in order to become far more effective contributors at a personal, team, management and organisational level.”

The result is a set of intensive soft skills training programmes that focus on customer service, personal effectiveness, graduate development – and soft skills for IT professionals and IT managers. “In each of our intensive development programmes there are initial modules, which provide core learning. For those who wish to progress further, additional modules enable them to add significantly to their skills. Our customers tell us that this approach is far more effective – the shorter, more focused courses deliver better results more quickly, taking people’s abilities to a more advanced level, giving them the skills to become truly outstanding employees.”

Xpertise already has a substantial soft skills training portfolio of over 80 courses, to improve the performance of individuals, teams and businesses.

“Over the last five years, our professional skills training business – such as PRINCE2 project management and ITIL service management – has grown significantly along with our soft skills training portfolio,” says Walker. “These new programmes refine our approach to soft skills training. We’ve been testing the programmes with selected customers for several months, and the feedback is excellent. HRD will allow us to launch these to the largest audience.”
