Xpertise brings early Microsoft VSTS skills to market

Learning NewsQA

With the imminent launch of Visual Studio Team System (VSTS), Xpertise has already been working with the product for several months to bring skills into the market for early adopters.

Visual Studio Team System brings together a suite of tools for project managers, software architects, developers and testers to enable them to reduce the complexity of delivering modern service-oriented solutions. VSTS will speed development time and ensure the predictability and reliability of the development process. It is being heralded as a necessary tool for software teams and is set to revolutionise software development in a Microsoft environment.

As with any major product release, there are always a number of early adopters who need to skill up on the technology before the general release. Xpertise has been working for several months to build and rollout training courses for key project development teams.

"This is a large and complex product” says Xpertise's commercial director, Bill Walker. "Our key objective was to build a workshop that would address the needs of the early adopters so that they could quickly realise the benefits that the product could offer. We have since delivered a number of very successful events with very positive feedback on both the product and training. It is clear that Microsoft VSTS is going to be a key tool for development teams. We are now scheduling a series of exclusive public events to train a wider audience"

John Allwright, Visual Studio Product Manager, Microsoft UK commented: “Training is one of the major drivers in ensuring that new products are successfully adopted into the market place. We are delighted that Xpertise is proactively taking the lead in helping customers to take advantage of VSTS on future software development projects.”

Kim Rubbo, Partner Development Manager - Training & Certification, Microsoft UK explained: “With the new generation of Microsoft certifications, which were announced at the end of last year, we are extremely pleased to see that Xpertise is embracing VSTS and also generating excitement and demand around the new certifications for Visual Studio 2005.

Last year Xpertise was awarded the prestigious title of “Microsoft's Certified Learning Solution Partner of the Year for EMEA”, for the second time. This award identifies Xpertise as Microsoft's top learning partner right across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
