QA InterQuad Principal Technologist reaches final of BCS awards
QA InterQuad Principal Technologist, Dave Britt, has been selected as a medallist for the prestigious British Computer Society (BCS) 'Trainer of the Year' award for 2006.
In recognition of his skills as a trainer, Dave has been selected as one of four medallists for this popular category. The entry was based on his achievements in the past twelve months, featuring a range of successful bespoke programmes focusing on Microsoft Windows technology, including supporting company-wide upgrades and implementations.
Dave has recently been promoted to Principal Technologist at QA InterQuad. This unique role, which places him amongst an elite group of experts identified by the company, is focused on understanding the requirements of the customer base and developing new and effective solutions in Microsoft Windows space. He is currently working with new Microsoft technologies to develop the next generation of QA InterQuad courses.
Commenting on his nomination, Dave said; "That this award recognises innovation is critical to maintaining the high standards we have come to expect from the industry. The last twelve months have seen a number of advances in the provision of technical training - not least an increased awareness of the benefits of a variety of delivery techniques to cater for all learning styles - and I believe that it's important that the courses available reflect these changes. I'm currently working on an initiative to provide our Microsoft learners with ongoing support beyond the classroom, as they implement the technology back in the workplace and use the skills they have learnt.
"I'm really excited that I've been selected as a finalist for this award. I feel that this is sound recognition of the success of the programmes I have developed, as I work very closely with our customers to make sure that they gain the skills they require, particularly when developing a bespoke programme."
Director of Learning Development at QA InterQuad, Brian Sutton, added; "Dave is one of our outstanding trainers, and can be relied upon to bring a particularly special learning experience to our customers. He works ceaselessly to ensure that he is at the leading edge of his chosen technology field and is very involved in professional newsgroups and forums, sharing his experience and knowledge with the wider professional community. I'm sure that this has influenced his success in these awards as well as the positive feedback we've had from our customers."
The BCS awards recognise, promote and acclaim excellence, professionalism, innovation and the outstanding achievements to which individuals and groups contribute. As one of four medallists, Dave will present to a panel of judges before the final decision is reached. The awards will be announced at a black-tie dinner at London's Grosvenor Hotel on 7 December 2006.
