New Windows Vista courses available from QA-IQ
Find out more with hands-on overview and deployment workshops! With Wednesday's announcement that Microsoft's Windows Vista is complete and will be launched to businesses at the end of this month, it's critical that IT professionals and decision-makers understand the features of the new desktop operating system and are aware of the benefits it can bring.
Available immediately, QA-IQ has launched a one-day introductory workshop that includes hands-on labs. Suitable for technical decision-makers as well as IT Professionals, the workshops will be delivered by QA-IQ's Windows expert Dave Britt, who has already been delivering courses to Microsoft teams and partners on Vista implementation.
"There has been a lot of talk about Windows Vista, but it's important that IT professionals have the knowledge and skills to make up their own minds about the benefits of Windows Vista" explains Britt. "There are a lot of new features in Vista and understanding how these can improve security, productivity and manageability is central to making the decision to deploy the new technology."
Also new is a two-day implementation workshop that goes into greater depth for those who will be deploying Vista. "While the new tool-set means Vista is easier to deploy than previous versions of Windows, it is a different process," continues Britt, "it takes away much of the complexity but new tools, techniques and best-practice mean that even if companies are considering Vista in the longer term, it's important that technical professionals involved in deployment start to investigate the changes and understand the new techniques involved.
"Working with Microsoft's partners to introduce the technology has give me a valuable insight into the challenges many IT professionals may face when considering Vista, and I'll be able to share my experiences and help people to plan for effective deployment."
The one-day workshop will provide an overview of features including:
·Security enhancements including preventing user-initiated security problems, malware protection and network protection
·User productivity enhancements including interface chances
·Monitoring and managing Windows Vista including software management including Group Policy enhancements and remote management
Those attending the two-day workshop will develop the skills they require to successfully plan and deploy the desktop operating system including:
·Preparing to deploy
·Application compatibility
·User state migration
·Computer Imaging technologies
·Lite Touch and Zero Touch deployment
·Securing a Windows Vista desktop
